Hey, it’s Syd.
Known for her smooth, warm and friendly voice, Sydney is a talented voice over artist, singer and actress. Her voice over work spans from commercial ads with Baskin Robbins and American Airlines to Similac baby formula and Lygenesis Biotechnology.
Now with numerous commercial voice over gigs under her belt, Sydney is branching out into the animation and children’s audio book world. Check out her animation demo and a sample from her latest audio book narration. She dreams of one day voicing an animated character on a kids tv show that all her nieces and nephews love.
Besides voice over work, Sydney just produced a documentary series on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) which was funded by TELUS Storyhive. She also co-founded an immersive experience company called Third Wheel Productions. Sydney specializes in movement-based performance and immersive experiences using experimental methods and technology. She’s trained with SITI Company in both Viewpoints and Suzuki, with Frantic Assembly on ensemble devising and worked extensively in movement-based techniques at Capilano University.
One of her main missions is to push the boundaries of storytelling and blur the lines between what defines an audience member and a performer.
Sydney’s most well-known immersive work was a sold out original immersive piece called Deep Into Darkness, that was featured in CBC, National Post and more.
She is actively developing additional projects that merge technology, live performance and audience interactivity. In 2021, Sydney joined Single Thread Theatre Company’s cast for their virtual reality performance of Collider, an original devised immersive piece that took place in Altspace VR as a part of the FOLDA and rEvolver festival.
In her spare time she enjoys bouldering, collecting/caring for plants, exploring new places with her husband and dog, painting watercolor florals and eating gluten-free (tacos are her fave).
